# Delete a DID delivery policy

> Remove a DID-scoped policy and restore ordinary DID service fall-through

Remove the policy attached to a DID scope. After finalization, delivery falls through to the DID's ordinary service entries unless a supplied Persona has a matching rule.

## Request

<ParamField path="did" type="string" required>
  The URL-encoded DID whose policy will be removed.
</ParamField>

The body requires action `clear_did_policy_v2`, the current policy nonce, expiration, canonical payload, and an authorized signature.

<RequestExample>
  ```bash Request theme={null}
  curl --request DELETE \
    --url "https://directory.example.com/delivery-policies/dids/did%3Aopenpayload%3A1111111111111111111111" \
    --header "Content-Type: application/json" \
    --data '{
      "did": "did:openpayload:1111111111111111111111",
      "action": "clear_did_policy_v2",
      "nonce": "<policy-nonce>",
      "valid_until": "<epoch-milliseconds>",
      "signer_key_id": "did:openpayload:1111111111111111111111#keys-1",
      "canonical_payload": "<encoded-scale-payload>",
      "signature": "<base64-ed25519-signature>"
    }'
  ```
</RequestExample>

## Response

```json 202 Response theme={null}
{
  "status": "accepted",
  "did": "did:openpayload:1111111111111111111111",
  "extrinsic": "apply_policy_v2_with_proof",
  "tx_hash": "<transaction-hash>",
  "message": "Chain extrinsic submitted"
}
```

## Straight to the point

```http theme={null}
DELETE /delivery-policies/dids/{url-encoded-did}
```

* Removes the policy, not the DID
* Action: `clear_did_policy_v2`
* Restores normal fall-through behavior after finalization
* Accepted submission: `202`
